In Egyptian times, both spiritual (religion) and medical (science) healing could coexist. Healers were people either directly in the profession of healing or that had supernatural access to the gods (and, thus, healing power through them).

Anyone who wasn't either a priest physician, a lay physician and the magician-physician wasn't considered a healer.
