What are the pros and cons of being a cotton farmer in Texas

Pros:

- Low cost, high amount of profit

In the past, most cotton plantation in Texas utilized slave labors, So these plantation did not have to spend anything on labor cost.

- Provide large amount of fund for state government

The cotton products made in Texas were distributed all across the world. This added more income for the state that they can allocate to other places (such as military)

- Cotton products are used to sustain and enchanced other industries.

For example, they can boil the cotton and mix it as food for farm animals. They also used cotton as part of clothing that often used by mine workers.

Cons:

- Environmental destruction

Cotton farming often took up a lot of water resources in surrounding area and degraded the structure of the land

- Human suffering
