The Black Americans’ central elements of religious services were in music and dancing. They used dances, shouts and songs to show their praises and their emotions and to worship God. And that’s the reason why white clergy promoted the idea that all Christians are equal in the eyes of God. May they be a slave or not. Africans were welcome to join the services for worshiping God. Even Baptist at the time had 25% slaves in their church community.
