    He feels bad for Antigone, but he is happy to save his own life. Though the sentinel feels bad for Antigone, he is delivering her to Creon to save his own life. The sentinel answers to the King, so he is anxious to make sure Creon knows who buried Polyneices. The sentinel wants to make sure that the King knows that the guards were not involved.
