Your neighbor has been listening to recent debates and asks you about your thoughts about the minimum wage. Right before you give your answer, he begins telling you about his philosophy. Your neighbor believes that a set minimum wage is both illogical and hurtful to the people in lower wage jobs. By having a minimum wage you are saying that a large portion of the jobs that earn minimum wage are equal in value, which is improbable. Also, having and/or raising the minimum wage will result in people losing their jobs. By increasing the expenses of small margin companies like restaurants, companies will have to lay off some workers to cover the costs. Is your neighbor's view on this best characterized as liberal of conservative?

    Conservative

    Explanation:

The Conservatives believes more in personal responsibility, limited government, free market, individual liberty, traditional American values etc. They believe the role of government should be to provide the freedom necessary to pursue their own goals. They often focus on policies that empowers the individual to solve problems.

In this case, since the setting of minimum wage may make people lose their job, and illogically place people in the same wage category in the same work level: objecting it is a conservative philosophy
