The correct answer should be A. took colonies for themselves in other parts of the globe

They started growing even more which caused them to be afraid of each other and they needed resources from the colonies to militarize themselves. They didn't go to war but war came to them because of this but this was later, in 1914. They didn't promote growth of smaller countries but wanted to colonize them.
