    The answer is: are achieving the goals they set for whatever they are writing.

    Metacognitive regulation is the control of our cognitive capabilities with our learning process in order to ensure that the time we spend for the learning process is efficient.

    People who engage in this regulation would determine before hand their target prior the learning process began and keep checking whether their current method of learning bring them closer to that goal or not.
