Why are there only few autocratic governments in the world

    In autocratic from of government, the power lies in the hands of one person who is hailed to be supreme.

    Explanation:

    Autocratic leaders mostly make decisions based on their ideas and judgments and rarely accept advise from others. This aspect may push them to take bad decisions which may pave way fro a relentless chaos in the society. There are no laws or constitution which puts a check or restrictions on the operation of the autocrat which makes him despotic. The people who are governed have no elections and hence there occurs a great chasm between the government and the governed.

    Individual rights are ignored and the powers and authority is commanded by force. It s in a way similar to absolute monarchy. This sis the modern age wherein the public opinion is held high in all spheres. Be it economical, social or political fields, people' interests when held high, there prevails some common good. Hence only few countries have adopted Autocratic form of government while many prefer to democracy.
