List the characteristics of a geologic formation

The following are some characteristics of geological formation: Tectonic activities such are the collision of plates, earhquakes, breaking of plates, etc., cause most of the geologic formations to occur. Many mountains like the Himalayas and the Andes are a result of geologic activities. Geologic formations can occur both on land and deep inside the oceans. The ridges found in the oceans are nothing but a result of geological activity referred to as faulting. Most geological formations are huge in size. It takes millions of years for most geological formations to form.
