    Fossil fuels consist of energy sources that have a developed over millions of years through natural decomposition of plants and animals. For example coil, gas and petrol. They are known for having a high percentage of carbon and when they are burned, they usually emit dangerous gases.

    Building more highways will not reduce the use of fossil fuel and as can be observed in the US, will only increase it. Higher electric bills will actually deter people from using electric cars and again, lead to higher fossil fuel consumption. Faster cars and trucks usually use more petrol than normal so this also makes the problem worse.

    However, Nuclear Energy, while as controversial as it might be, is very clean and does not emit dangerous gases into the atmosphere.
