How do annemarie's experiences in this section force her to grow up in a way that ellen is not yet forced to?

    In the past, Annemarie has to experienced the death of her own sister, while Ellen never experienced that.

    Annemarie also discover the lies that her family did in Great Aunt Birte's funeral, while Ellen live a secluded and protected life.

    Because of this, Annemarie grew up to be more mature while Ellen grow up to be a little bit naive.
