    Theoretical research

    Explanation:

Theoretical research: is a logical exploration of the system of belief and assumption. This type of theory is used to define how a cyber system and its environment behave and then exploring or playing out the explanation of how it could be defined. This type of research is very important in bounds, edge cases and emergent behavior of the system. It is also called Ivory tower research. Any research type or an approach can run the risk of being irrelevant or out of touch if done incorrectly. In some fields, it is too far away from engineering and technological experiments and refutes them a hundred years ago. In cyber-security research, we can say that theoretical work often overlaps with another stream such as mathematics, logic, or theory of computation.
