A group attends a football game and sits on the side of the stadium reserved for fans of the home team. When the referee makes a call against the home team, they all look at each other and shake their heads, assuming they all feel the same about the call. How would a sociologist explain these assumptions?

Answer: The shared common interest amongst the fans sitting on the same side of the stadium makes them have the common understanding and excitement.

There is that feeling of knowing that they all have similar opinions because they favour the same team and they agree on one thing shout and scream for the home team as compared to others who may be sitting on the other side.

There is a shared spirit amongst each other, the eagerness to scream and shout for the home team.
