Why do you think the Spaniards chose to utilize Native Americans in the new colonies?

Basically: people in the history have often used other people for their benefit, when they felt that they could (morally, they were stronger and there were no repercussions).

The Spaniards believed that the Native Americas, as not Christians, did not deserve the same rights as Christians and they felt entitled to utilize them without moral guilt.
