Based on a study of iqs of men and women who play chess competitively , a researcher concludes that playing chess causes people to become smarter. do you agree with this conclusion?

    As stated above, one has to think critically and be analytical to explore other options before agreeing to a conclusion.

    For example, we need to analyze possible bias: What if only people that already have high IQ are the ones interested in playing chess?

    However, if experimental studies were reliable and the evidence is there, it could be possible that these types of games contribute to, for instance, cognitive enhancement or memory skills as chess is not a simple game and, personally, I believe it needs strong analytical skills.

    As this conclusion may be possible, one has to remember that, in science, it is extremely important to think critically and repeat experiments in order to prove a result and reach a conclusion.
