How was life in the west different from life in the east in the early 1800s?

    Answer: what was life like in the old west? Well, Mostly it would be very boring by modern people's standards. Survival was hard work, however, so most people who actually lived there had little time to be bored. Conditions tended to be quite primitive, and at times the weather could be quite harsh.

    At the beginning of the 1800s, most people all over the world spent most of their time farming: planting, weeding, and harvesting, and taking care of animals ... By the end of the 1800s, all of this was starting to change. Many more people lived in cities and worked in factories or in offices.
