Why are people often more concerned about germ line mutations than somatic ones?

    Germline mutations can be passed on to the future generations. Somatic mutations can spontaneously arise in a cell at any time in a person’s life, but this type of mutation is limited to the descendants of the original cell that developed the mutation.
