    They developed a therapeutic alliance, also called therapeutic relationship. He now has a consistent association with his pyschotherapist. Because of the genuineness and emphatic behavior of his psychotherapist, Jake is able to share his emotions, thoughts, and beliefs.

    In a therapeutic alliance, there is trust and respect. So when a patient in therapy trust his therapist, he tends to share more intimate thoughts and emotions leading the therapist to understand his situation better and provide the most appropriate treatment and strategies to address the issue.
