Ageism is a concern globally because it affects all most all nations. The major threat posed by ageism is social security and medical care system. With more people ageing, military services and national intelligence are left vulnerable while medical care funds increase due to deteriorating health in the older age.

Other problems include discrimination against elderly workers and there is also an increased proportion of retired workers due to ageing. In many countries especially in first world countries, there has been a decline in birth rate and this has increased migration infestation threatening the natives in all ways imaginable.
