    The size of the immigrant population from each continent to the United States in the year 2000 was 31.1 million. In 2010, the number increased to 40 million. The highest number in history.

    According to the Migration Policy Institute (MPI), with data from the U. S. Census Bureau, the immigrant share of the total U. S. population was 11.1% in the year 2000, and 19.9% in 2010.

    Steven A. Camarota, Director of Research at the Center for Immigration Studies, reported in his research that immigrants that entered to the U. S. in 2000 or later were from this continents:

    -Europe: 1,165,176.

    -Asia: 4,088,455.

    -Latin America: 7,470,706

    -Other areas: 1,138,743.

    The total number in those years is 13,863,080 immigrants.
