Holden thinks it spoils a conversation when someone asks what religion he is on the grounds that Catholics dependably wish to persuade you to be catholic and others simply like to talk. He isn't much of a religious person and doesn't have much to say in regards to the subject.

The Catcher in the Rye is described by a young fellow named Holden Caulfield. Holden isn't particular about his area while he's recounting the story, however he makes it clear that he is experiencing treatment in a psychological doctor's facility or sanatorium.
