    Explanation: False consciousness is a term given by Karl Marx that explains the concept that people can take on formed beliefs about themselves, and those beliefs formed by someone else. This is the case in this example, while this Marx's concept was referring to the working class who were being persuaded so that they were not aware that their condition was as bad as it actually was, and from that belief benefits the one who imposed that belief, in the Marxian concept, the bourgeoisie. According to Marx, this false consciousness was imposed on the working class, in order to mislead the workers of the capitalist society, thus concealing the exploitation of workers by the bourgeoisie.

    In this case, the students accepted the imposed belief about them for reasons other than those of the working class, but certainly the false consciousness that was accepted by the students and their effect and progress is negligible.
