    The similarities between the Germanic culture and the Roman culture:

    Both the cultures broadly practised democracy and consisted of patriarchal families. Slavery was prominent in both the cultures. Agriculture was the major occupation in both cultures.

    Though the democracy in Rome was transformed into a Republic, it did have a democracy for a long time. In both cultures, the eldest man in the family headed the family. The Roman families were conjugal in nature. Both cultures practised slavery to a great extent.
