    The 5E model is an instructional model which includes the phases: Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate. The BSCS approach to the Learning Cycle-the 5 E model was developed by Roger Bybee

    The steps in this model are used by educators to enable students build a strong foundation in knowledge and encourage active participation. In the explain phase which is guided by the teacher, students ask questions and are clarified so that there is synthesis of new knowledge.
