Why did congress pass the twenty-second admendment

The congress passed the twenty-second amendment because after the death of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the people realized having the same president for more than eight years was bad for the country.

Because they realized that having the same president for more that 8 years (4 years in each term) was bad.
