When Griffen gets in his car and drives, it will beep at him annoyingly until he puts on his seatbelt. Once Griffen puts his seatbelt on, the loud sound goes away. This seat-belt buckling behavior continues until one day, Griffen starts automatically buckling his seatbelt before the beeping even begins. When something aversive goes away and the behavior is strengthened and continues, what type of operant conditioning has taken place?

The type of operant conditioning is known as negative reinforcement.

    Explanation:

In the operant conditioning, reinforcement refers to acquiring a new behavior by associating the reward that comes after a certain conduct.

A negative reinforcement refers to the removal of an aversive stimulus in order to reinforce a conduct.

In this case Griffen gets annoyed at the beeping in his car, which only goes away when he puts on his seatbelt. In the end the conduct of putting on his seatbelt is reinforced and he does it in order to avoid the negative stimulus.
