Few comparativists have the resources, time, or language skills to conduct research in multiple countries, so, as a result, they often focus on mastering a single country or language and focusing all their research on this limited case. What is the danger of single-case research?

    The danger of single-case research is that it can make the researchers limit themselves to a single country and form a rigid belief that their country is unique and thus, fail to recognize the similarities exhibited by other countries.

    Explanation:

    As far as country-specific attributes are concerned, the similarities of the traits need to be tested to determine whether any other country bears the same traits or not. Forming notions about the uniqueness of one's own country and denying similar attributes exhibited by other countries is not advisable in the discipline of research.
