    The Silk Road went through the Taklamakan Desert and the Gobi Desert.

    Along with that it went through China, specifically the Gan-Su corridor, the Tarima Basin, and the highlands of Pamir and Tian-Shan ranges.

    It led through Central Asia, Afghanistan, Iran, and the Eastern Mediterranean shores.
