    Explanation:

    In 1906, during the race riot of Atlanta dozens of blacks were killed by white mobs, wounded several scores of others, and caused a considerable property damage. According to local newspaper reports of white females were allegedly assault by black males which were the catalyst for the riot and outbreak of the mob violence.

    These conditions caused concern among whites about females and feared about the social interaction of the races, and led to an expansion of social segregation, mainly separation in the black and white neighborhoods and totally separated seating arrangements in public transportation.
