Information governance, or IG, refers to a program where a series of processes and steps to manage information are delineated by an organization, with the aim to ensure it is processed in the best possible way. IG seeks to ensure a better control, flow and optimization of information. While every IG program is different and is specially crafted by every organization to suit its particular needs, there are a series of principles that have been established as a guideline. One of these principles is a Continous Improvement. This one states that information governance programs aren't just designed and put into operation once, but they must be continually reviewed and updated. A periodic program review and necessary adjustment against gaps and or shortcomings is necessary in order to adapt the IG program to an ever changing environment.
