This question is probably related to the story "The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien. In this story, he describes a group of soldiers who march through Vietnam. They carry tangible (things which can be experienced by senses) and intangible things (abstract things which cannot be explained by senses).

    Tangible things are:

a compress, weapon, a two-pound poncho, raincoat, tent, maps, the compasses, supplies, tablets and medicine, pocket knives etc.

Intangible things such as: memories, fears, emotions.

Intangible things are heavier to burden, because they cannot be put down, they should be endured.
