    The main purposes and justifications for including heritage education in social studies of primary school curriculum are;

    to equip the students with intelligent and fruitful participation in the society

    to produce a sense of national unity

    Heritage is an integral part of society and culture, a knowledge about this will improve students' better understand the foundation of their society and culture.

    Heritage education is the main component of a core curriculum and common learning advanced by Ernest Boyer, William Bennett, and many other curriculum reformers of the 1980s. Heritage education creates national unity by teaching consequential ideas, experiences, and traditions common to all of the students.
