The cities in today's society are segregated owing to the existence of different economic classes within the population of cities.

    Explanation:

An urban population can be divided into three major classes based on their economic status. These classes are the upper, middle, and lower classes.

The people in these classes usually live, function, and interact within their own class. The interaction between these three classes is not as much as the interaction that is prevailing within the classes. Thus, the cities are in unknowingly practice segregation.
