Mark is reviewing recent applications for an opening at his company.     Explanation:

    It is a sampling bias because the way that the applications were not seeing in a random way. Just because the first ones are not good enough, it does not mean that necessarily all of them are bad. He has to keep seeing for sometime to determine if there are some good ones. He gave up because of a bad sampling amount, what doesn't mean they are all bad.
