    True.

    Explanation:

Third parties in the U. S. are fringe in presidental elections. In recent times, the only third party candidate who has gotten significant support was Ross Perot who obtained 18.9% of the vote in the 1992 U. S. Presidential Election.

Two of the third parties that most often participate in presidential elections are the Libertarian Party and the Green Party.

The Libertarian Party is to the right of the Republican Party in economic issues and to the left in social issues, supporting policies seen as extreme such as the abolition of welfare, or the legalization of drugs, including hard drugs.

The Green Party is to the left of the Democratic Party, and supports green policies, and social justice policies.

These two parties are often denounced by member of the two main parties as spoilers in elections because while they receive very little support, the voters they take away can swing an election.
