    Leading mining countries: China, Australia, Russia, South Africa, Chile, among others.

    Explanation:

    The role played by developing countries is that of "providers" to the countries which transfrom the raw material into finished products.

    The greatest producer of copper in the world is Chile. Unfortunately, Chile's reaction to the threatened scarcity of copper has been to lower copper quality. In addition, mines workers' strikes deteriorate even more the production.
