    The correct answer is stimulus

The concept of stimulus has its origin in the Latin term stimŭlus. The word refers to the physical, chemical, mechanical or other agent that triggers a functional reaction in an organism. The term also makes it possible to refer to the incitement for something to work or work and to what gives energy, which encourages it.

In general, it can be said that a stimulus is that which has an impact on a system. In the case of living beings, the stimulus is that which causes a response or reaction in the organism.

For psychology, a conditioned stimulus is what causes a reflex by association with an unconditioned stimulus. The latter, on the other hand, is what causes a reflex that does not require any learning.
