To answer a research question, psychologists might collect data from lots of people, then analyze it to find the trends that they have in common. In other words, they are using specific examples to determine a general rule. According to lecture, these psychologists are using what kind of reasoning?

    Inductive reasoning

    Explanation:

    Inductive reasoning is the opposite of deductive reasoning. This is the reasoning of wide generalization from a particular observation. There would be data and after that data, there would make the observation and then make the conclusion. This is called inductive reasoning. Inductive reasoning is when we go from specific to general. In this process firstly we make much observation and discern the pattern and then make the generalization and after that apply the explanation in the theory.

    For instance when I pulled a coin from my pocket that is a penny when another coin then it will again a penny so the conclusion is that all coins are a penny.
