Darien has just started a new job. His coworkers tell him that their manager is very unselfish and always keeps her promises. In addition, she is the leading expert in the company on product development. As a result of this information, Darien is likely to develop cognition-based trust in his manager. True or false?

    When we go to a new environment or a new place in which we may meet new people that we have never interacted with before it is likely that our trust will be based on the first thing we see them do or the things we hear from others say about them or signs that gives us cues if we could trust these individuals.

    The trust that is dependent on impression or cognitive cues without having personally interacted with the person is called cognitive based trust.

    Darien has heard good things about his manager from his colleagues, due to the information that he now has in his mind he is likely to think and feel that his manager can be trusted eventhough he personally hasn't interacted with him.
