    Motorists and Pedestrians do not really share the same responsibilities but all road users have responsibilities to obey the traffic laws including pedestrians and cyclists. All road users must obey traffic laws. But in the case of the question asked above if pedestrian fail to obey the traffic law while using the roadway it is the responsibility of the motorist to stop.

    Motorists must always be vigilant, and keep a lookout for pedestrians and cyclists to maintain safety of all.
