Stocks of Bluefin Tuna, and other fish populations, have dropped by eighty percent due to illegal fishing activities and over-fishing done by humans. Bluefin Tuna are popular to catch because of their large, domineering size.

Bluefin tuna are considered a delicacy for sushi and sashimi and are sold for a lot of money. Due to the potential high earnings in return for this species of fish, fisherman are highly motivated to capture Bluefin tuna, putting them at higher risk. This is a problem because Bluefin are large and fast, making them a top undersea predator. Their deaths in large numbers upset the food chain balance under the sea.
