Henry Grady promoted a New South program by using Northern Investment, Southern industrial growth, diversified farming and white surpremacy. He wanted to promote the economic development by using the unity and trust of the north and south to promote northern investment in southern industries. He encouraged farmers to raise their crops alongside cotton to bring in more revenue and higher cotton prices. Due to this Atlanta held expositions and industrial fairs that brought in new investment dollars and provided new jobs to the city.
