The United Kingdom (UK), also referred to as Great Britain, has a very good strategic/geopolitical positions before of multiple factors:

    - It is surrounded by ocean and sea on all four sides; this is beneficial for both economic and defense reasons. Economically it is beneficial because the country is free to trade with everyone without having to be careful of any agreements, or have troubles with embargoes. From defense perspective it is a good location because a land invasion is not an option.

    - It doesn't have a direct land border with any other country (apart from the one with Ireland); the fact that it doesn't have a direct border with any other country apart from the one with Ireland which is a friendly island, gives it the opportunity to independently create its own politics and actions without taking in consideration the interest of another bordering country.

    - It is located on a position were it is in close proximity to highly developed countries; the country is in close proximity to strong European economies with whom it has nice relations, and all the goods needed and all the collaboration is on disposal, which allows easy trade, strengthening of the economy, and also greater security.
