Explain how westward expansion led to conflict with native american groups

As american colonists expanded westward, they began to crawl into native american territory. This led to the usual conflicts that arise, not only from competition for scarce resources, but also from cultural differences, and intolerance.

The american colonists took up more and more land previously inhabited by native americans, and violent conflicts soon erupted. Because of superior technology, and a higher population count, in most cases the colonists were victorious.

At the end, government sponsored programs such as the Indian Removal Act, the Trail of Tears, and the creation of Indian Reservations, ensured the victory of colonists over the native americans.
