What do you think the Jamestown settlers could have done before the start of their voyage to become better prepared?

What I think they could've done was bring more supplies like clothes like warmer clothes more food and medical assistance. they took awfully long time to make Jamestown and they at least accomplished making jamestoen but many people had died fromthe dieseas
