In the essay "Equality of sexes" she acknowledges that there are differences between men and women, and it has to do with how they are raised. She says, "one is taught to aspire, the other is early confined and limited". By treating boys and girls differently, we are making them behave differently. Nature has given both the same capabilities. "As their years increase, the sister must be domesticated, while the brother is led by the hand through all the flowery paths of science".
