    Although television and newspapers still play a fundamental rol in communication and in public opinion, the web, and more specifically social media, have created a platform in which ordinary citizens can express their opinions and reach a broad audience. This characteristic of social media has changed dramatically the way that information is created and communicated, it also has began to change the way public opinion is shaped, empowering the audiences.
