the appropriate amount of time for a teacher to pause after asking a question before restating the question or moving on is: 3 seconds

Most teachers only wait for about 1.4 question after asking a question before moving on. In most cases, a student who wanted to ask a question need more time to reframe the sentence in his/her head and if the teacher moved on too quickly, that teacher will discourage the student from asking the question.
