Describe the differences between skeletal, smooth, and cardiac muscles on the basis of their shape, organization, and the presence and location of nuclei, striations, and intercalated disks

    Cardiac and skeletal muscles are striated while smooth muscles have no striations. Skeletal muscles are found around the bones and tendons, cardiac muscles are exclusive to the heart while smooth muscles are found lining intestines, throat, uterus, abdominal organs and blood vessels.

    The nuclei of cardiac and smooth muscles are centrally placed while the nuclei of skeletal muscles are placed at the periphery of the cell.
