    The people also felt that there was nothing wrong with the previous flag and that the people were very content with it.

    Many people also felt that the flag was a symbol of racist protest. The people also didn't want to purchase a new flag, as it would place a burden on them to buy a new one and replace the older one. Political pressure was put by different groups to change the official state flag during the 90's but nothing came of it.
